Big Ideas, Real Impact

Mission:
Inclusive Learning Hub partners with Deaf Plus learners, families, and teams to build access, communication, and independence through ASL/AAC‑rich, trauma‑informed practices, rooted in dignity, evidence, and joy.

My Story

My name is Janey. I was born and raised in Colorado. I am an avid hiker, runner, and dog mom. I am also a Special Education teacher who want all students with disabilities to be successful. My goal is to help families and schools integrate ASL, AAC, sensory access, and functional academics so Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners with additional disabilities so they can thrive at home, in school, and in community.

Here, curiosity meets community.

Traditional blogs are often a one-way street. A monologue in a digital room. I want to do things differently here. This is an Inclusive Learning Hub, a living resource designed to grow alongside the people who use it.

Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just starting your journey, this space is built for you to explore, unlearn, and evolve.

My Core Philosophy

I believe that learning shouldn't be gated, intimidating, or rigid. To keep this space truly inclusive, I lead with these three pillars:

• Accessible Insights: No jargon for the sake of jargon.

• Diverse Perspectives: Learning is richer when we look through multiple lenses.

• Safe Curiosity: There are no "dumb" questions here. This is a judgment-free zone for those brave enough to say, "I don't know yet."

What You’ll Find Here

This isn't just a collection of posts; it's a toolkit for your personal and professional growth:

1. Deep Dives: Comprehensive guides.

2. Community Echoes: Insights and questions gathered from our readers.

3. Resource Libraries: Curated lists of books, tools, and thinkers to follow.

Why "Inclusive"?

Inclusivity to me means more than just a seat at the table; it means making sure the table is at the right height for everyone. I strive for web accessibility, use plain language, and actively seek to highlight voices that are often sidelined in this industry.

This hub is a work in progress, much like we are. If you have a suggestion on how we can make our content more accessible or a topic you’re dying to see covered, your voice is the most important one in the room.
